1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Simple Strokes is a golf scorekeeping application that lets users record strokes per hole, track round history, and view scoring and handicap trends. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time.
3. Eligibility & Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information, including a valid mobile phone number if you opt in to text messaging.
4. SMS Text Messaging Terms
This section describes the Simple Strokes text messaging program ("Program") and applies to anyone who opts in to receive SMS messages from Simple Strokes. This Program uses a standard 10-digit U.S. long code (10DLC) — not a short code — but the same consent and disclosure practices apply.
4.1 Program Description
By opting in, you agree to receive automated and/or manually sent SMS text messages from Simple Strokes related to your account and use of the Service, which may include:
- Tee time and round reminders
- Reminders to finish logging an in-progress round
- Account or service-related notifications
Simple Strokes does not send marketing text messages unless you separately opt in to receive them.
4.2 How to Enroll
You may opt in to text messages by entering your mobile phone number and affirmatively enabling text alerts within the Service. By doing so, you consent to receive text messages at the number provided, and you confirm that you are the account holder or authorized user of that number.
4.3 Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your activity and preferences (for example, how often you have upcoming tee times or unfinished rounds). You may receive multiple messages in a given week during active golf season, or none in weeks you don't play.
4.4 Cost of Messages
Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Simple Strokes does not charge for text messages sent as part of the Program, but your carrier's standard messaging rates apply.
4.5 Opt-Out
You may opt out of the Program at any time by texting STOP to the number messages are sent from. After you send STOP, we will send a one-time confirmation message that you have been unsubscribed, and you will not receive further messages unless you opt in again. You can also disable text alerts directly within the Service.

4.7 Supported Carriers
The Program is available on most major U.S. wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
4.8 Privacy
Your phone number and consent to receive text messages will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how SMS data is collected and used.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or related systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except as permitted by law.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, and underlying software, is owned by Simple Strokes or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scoring calculations will be free from mistakes.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Simple Strokes and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Simple Strokes harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, us, or third parties. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
